Patriotic To Be A Singaporean

I used to think that being a Singporean does not really mean anything and is nothing special. But soon after we have had our history lessons, I feel that we have really come a long way to succeed so well today and I hope we will continue to strive for a better life.

I feel that Singaporeans are like the part of me before and I hope they would wake up soon and come to realise that we are really a lucky nation from what setbacks we had till now, our success.

Our governments are taking good care of us and using most of their money on our education and Singapore's developement.

In all, I feel that we are not as patriotic as we should be.

Racism

Firstly, I feel that Racial Harmony Day is the day which will reminds us of being united as a country/human race. I think that we should not leave anyone out of the topic or the group. We should cherish each other, even if we look different.

I feel that the school should not force students to wear ethnic costumes to prove that they can harmonise with the other races as it is the clothes they are wearing and not the real heart to befriend them. Wearing ethnic costumes do not mean that they would kick out the thought of racism. And what's more? They were FORCED to do it.

Thus, I agree that wearing ethnic costumes are not racism level indicators and will never be.

Harry Potter

I feel that Harry Potter is good enough(or even better) to become a classic. Everybody's love for him will not die and even after a few years, when the popular story is back on the shelf, it will be the topic everyone starts to talk about, even for someone who does not read the book, like me.

The author really knows what the population wishes for and has thus earned billion of dollars, just through writing books! I am amazed with her.

Through the news, we can already see that everywhere on Earth, everyone is queueing and counting down to the day of the book launching, like what we do during New Year. See how IMPORTANT and MEANINGFUL the event is?!

Even if this is the last episode of the book, i feel that it can and will be remembered by us.

Aids

Aids(acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is a really scary disease. It is like a invisible killer. When you are just infected with it, you will not notice it as there are no syptoms in the first few stages, only until a few years later, when the disease gets more serious then will know it. But by then you will not be able to find a cure for it.

I feel that those people who have been infected unknowingly(by blood transfusion...) are really unlucky as they have did nothing wrong to deserve such a dreadful illness. I feel pityful for them.

As for those who have been infected by sexual intercourse with multi partners, I don't feel that much sorry for them as they should know the consequences. Some of them even go for blood donating when they know that they are infected. They are really inconsiderate. If they are really scared of dying, then they should have considered of having Aids in the first place.

All for all, I hope that scientists and doctors could find a cure for Aids as soon as possible.
